Usui Reiki
Usui Reiki, a practice originating in Japan, was developed by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. Usui, a spiritual seeker and scholar, sought to understand and harness the natural healing energy of the universe. His discovery led to the creation of Reiki, a form of energy healing that uses gentle touch or non-touch techniques to channel universal life force energy into the recipient.
Reiki operates on the principle that energy flows through all living things and that by harmonizing this energy, we can promote healing and balance. During a Reiki session, practitioners use their hands to guide this energy to areas of need, helping to release blockages, reduce stress, and encourage the body’s natural healing processes.
Reiki can be profoundly beneficial for enhancing overall well-being. It supports physical health by relieving pain and boosting immune function, mental health by reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation, and emotional health by fostering a deep sense of inner peace and clarity. Whether used as a complementary therapy or as a standalone practice, Reiki empowers individuals to connect with their own healing potential and achieve greater harmony in their lives.
